Why SRG Global
Peter Westrick

“Sure, the pace is fast and the industry seems to change daily. But I like that about my work. We have to move quickly to keep up. But we always do.”

— Peter Westrick, making his mark early as an Engineering Manager, Evansville, Indiana, USA

I began my education in Hong Kong and then halfway through high school, we moved to Valparaiso, Indiana. Though my family had traveled a lot (a Habitat for Humanity trip to Bolivia stands out), starting over was hard. I found friends in the marching band and had a great chemistry teacher who encouraged a love of learning. But it wasn’t until joining SRG Global™ in college that I really felt at home again.

The company is committed to developing its people and I’ve seen that across its facilities.

I started with SRG Global in Ripley, Tennessee but moved to Evansville, Indiana shortly afterward. I was challenged to lead cross-functional teams in finding creative solutions to a range of problems. At times, this was a stretch for me and my team. But we were given the support we needed to succeed.

Over time I began leading continuous improvement projects and was asked to move to the Suzhou facility. I was excited to return to China to tackle new challenges and to share the SRG Global culture I had absorbed in the U.S. I’m proud that we’ve established an annual sports tournament and created our own unique daily exercise routine – a refresh of a Chinese dance we call “SRG Style.”

Now I am in Evansville again: the pace is still fast and the industry seems to change daily. But I like that about my work. We have to move quickly to keep up. But we always do. And we have a lot of fun along the way.
